A mysterious creature in the shape of a giant bat appears every time the thugs attack innocent passers-by to rob them.
A hero of the night imagined by the cartoonist Bob Kane to respond to the solar Superman, Batman was the perfect choice to become the star of a blockbuster film. But Tim Burton made him a more mysterious, more endearing character.
