Comprised of some of the finest musicians in contemporary jazz, Parallels includes Seamus Blake (Mingus Big Band, Michael Brecker), Gregory Hutchinson (Ray Brown, Betty Carter, Joshua Redman) and Logan Richardson (Jason Moran, Gerald Clayton).
Featuring music from Sanders' album Parallels (Whirlwind Recording 2024), the ensemble performs and tours Joe's expressive compositions, with each musician featured prominently in tonight's program.
"As the bassist, composer, and leader of the band, my role changes from minute to minute, whether it's ensuring and maintaining a groove, communicating with the audience, or playing solo bass without accompaniment. My wish and goal is for the listener to leave the concert feeling uplifted by the power of the sounds and vibrations."
