When Karl, Klara, and Friedrich's mother is hospitalized, the three children find themselves living with their grandfather for an indefinite period. Grandpa Bert is a poet. With little money and many unpaid bills. When welfare threatens to take the children away, Grandpa Bert takes his last pennies and runs away. And everyone follows. The impossible becomes possible. Nothing stays as it was. The world is turned upside down and turns a little differently, filled with wonder.
