In 1944, the landing of the GIs brings a breath of freedom to Europe, with jazz as a symbol of renewal. The Victory discs introduce an entire population to the new music from overseas, particularly jazz synonymous with regained freedom, with Glenn Miller's orchestra skillfully blending orchestrations and the pleasure of dance. As for French jazz developed under occupation, it is not to be overlooked and wonderfully integrates the New Orleans tradition and the daring of the emerging Be-Bop. Together with the lecturer and journalist Didier Boudet and the Big Band of the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg, we will explore the paths of musicians and critics who marked the era.
