Thierry CAMELBEECK, The Origin and Impact of Major Earthquakes in Stable Continental Regions
Now retired, Thierry CAMELBEECK, a physicist and geophysicist, served as a seismologist at the Royal Observatory of Belgium. He was the first to establish the Belgian network of modern seismometers enabling the study of earthquakes in Belgium and the surrounding regions over the past decades. His work has significantly contributed to understanding the causes of intraplate earthquakes. An enlightening lecture on seismic activity in Belgium, its estimated effects, and various possible prevention methods in construction.
