On Saturday, January 18, the Kufa will host a performative and musical reading by Luxembourgish author Claudine Muno, on the occasion of the release of her new novel "Roff", accompanied by the original music of Polish composer Michał Pepol. Born from a residency project supported by the "Neistart Lëtzebuerg - Kultur" program, "Roff" explores the links between historical memory and literary creation, while unveiling forgotten fragments of Luxembourgish history.

5:00 PM – Musical reading (followed by a discussion with the artists): The evening continues with a performance reading by Claudine Muno, accompanied live by the music of Michał Pepol. This interpretation mixes texts and musical compositions specially created for the project.

In "Roff", Claudine Muno imagined the character of Boy, a 17-year-old teenager, who lives with his grandmother Mémé. His biological mother died tragically when he was a child, and since then Mémé has become the unwavering guardian of family secrets. She stubbornly refuses to answer the questions her grandson asks her. Ultimately, it will be Kamil, a newcomer to the city, who will guide Boy in his quest to discover the truth about his origins.

As in Luxembourg, several languages coexist simultaneously in this book. Throughout the text, Luxembourgish, French, German, English, among others, interweave, each character speaking the language they would use to communicate daily. This process allows for the examination of identity, migration, and inclusion issues. Language, culture, and identity play an essential role in the book's concept. The characters find a connection that transcends cultural differences and the linguistic context.
