Pussy Riot with Diana Burkot & New Age Doom at Kulturfabrik
On February 19, the Kufa will host Diana Burkout, a member of the Russian artistic and activist collective PUSSY RIOT, and New Age Doom, a collective/platform formed around the duo Eric J. Breitenbach and Greg, known for their unique live performances that do not fit into any musical category.
Diana Burkot is a drummer, producer, and sound artist based in Moscow. Passionate about drums and electronic music since the age of 18, she has become an essential figure in the DIY music scene in Moscow, performing in various projects such as the synth trio Fanny Kaplan, the feminist performance art group Pripoy, and her solo project Rosemary Loves A Blackberry. She is also known for her involvement with the feminist group Pussy Riot as a drummer, singer, and activist, for which she had to seek refuge in Ukraine to escape the Russian police in 2011. She has toured internationally, sharing stages with renowned experimental and rock bands such as Soft Moon, Japanther, or Inga Copeland.
New Age Doom is known for its energetic concerts and immersive sound. Composed of the core duo Eric J. Breitenbach and Greg Valou, along with a roster of international musical talents, New Age Doom is a platform of experimentation and collaboration that defies genres, where various musical and aesthetic interests combine to create powerful sonic statements. The group's music blends elements of drone metal and progressive rock with jazz, dub, and diverse music styles to create a unique and immersive sound acclaimed by both critics and audiences. New Age Doom is more than a band: it's an artistic philosophy.
