“Create a universe with all the means at my disposal,”
Gustav Mahler aspired to for each of his symphonies, and the Third is no exception. Back at the Philharmonie, the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, under the baton of its conductor Gustavo Dudamel, performs this ninety-minute hymn to nature. Accompanied by mezzo-soprano Marianne Crebassa, the musicians seize it with their now legendary fervor.
