Finnish guitarist Kalle Kalima met double bassist Oliver Potratz and drummer Oliver Steidle in Berlin. These three became companions on a musical journey that has lasted twenty years so far. They have defined their own sound, challenging the limits of the musical possibilities of the trio. Klima Kalima borrows from rock, blues and folk to give their modern jazz sound a whimsical accent. Their previous work has been well received internationally and they won the "New German Jazz Award" in 2008.
