An impressive system of fortifications, almost entirely gone since the London Treaty of 1867, defended Kirchberg and protected the fortress city. Engineer Vauban, who led the siege works in 1684, was tasked with developing a project to strengthen the fortress. The museum offers two-hour guided tours of these fortifications.

IMPORTANT: Participants must be equipped with suitable clothing, sturdy shoes and a flashlight.
