Totto-Chan: The Little Girl at the Window (Madogiwa no Totto-chan)
Tokyo, early 1940s. Tetsuko, known by everyone as Totto-Chan, is a lively little girl who gives her teacher a hard time, resulting in her expulsion. Her parents decide to enroll her at Tomoe, a unique school where old train cars serve as classrooms. The school's director emphasizes the independence and creativity of children. As Japan sinks into war, Totto-Chan discovers that life's small experiences are more important than lessons. This adaptation aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of active pedagogies that, in response to the war, educate children in a spirit of cooperation and mutual aid. A story carried by sensitive and free animation, suitable from 10 years and older.
