A musical and choreographic event, Franceconcert presents Carmina Burana, one of the most famous masterpieces of the 20th century.
Based on a collection of lyrical poems, Carmina Burana was composed by Carl Orff between 1935 and 1936. First performed in 1937 at the Frankfurt Opera, this masterful piece has always fascinated and left no one indifferent. The most famous movement, "O Fortuna", reprised at the end of the work, is now known worldwide. Performed with passion and power by the choirs and soloists, these secular and Latin songs tell us a story of life, death, destiny and above all love. Nearly 100 artists sing the joy of the return of spring and the pleasures of alcohol, play with the wheel of destiny, dance love and lust. This new production seizes this musical phenomenon with sensuality and emotion to show that music, gesture and speech are inseparable. A great success of the 20th century performed all over the world, this original and fiery show will meet the public for a major European tour starting in November 2025.
