In December 2024, the wolf went from being a "strictly protected" species to a "protected" species within the European Union. A relaxation of status that allows the different governments to have more room for maneuver regarding its hunting. If the wolf realities differ between the members of the Union, we find it interesting to take advantage of this news to take stock of the situation of wolves in Belgium. Present on our territory for several years, there are now packs established in Wallonia.

The wolf being a discreet animal and difficult to observe, its presence is sometimes noticed with cases of predation on livestock, particularly sheep, which raises many questions among farmers and inhabitants of rural areas.

This evening will give us the opportunity to better understand the dynamics of the wolf's return, to exchange with experts on the challenges to be met and to discuss possible solutions for a sustainable coexistence between man and this natural predator.
