Fred and Mick, two old friends approaching eighty, are enjoying their holidays in a beautiful hotel at the foot of the Alps. Fred, a composer and conductor now retired, has no intention of returning to the musical career he abandoned long ago, while Mick, a film director, is still working, rushing to finish the script for his latest film. The two friends know that time is running out and decide to face their future together.
