Concert RMVA I Early Music Festival
Sigismondo d'India (c. 1582-1629) led an extraordinary career as a court musician in Italy.
The expressive power of his music makes him one of the greatest musical personalities of his time.
By placing him alongside the greatest composers of Venice, then in full musical effervescence, Leonardo García-Alarcón shows us how India was among those who best understood this change of aesthetic sensitivity and musical language at the dawn of the Baroque.
Sublimated by the voices of Mariana Flores and Gwendoline Blondeel, this enchanting program is an invitation to introspection, to contemplation: "It is a music to think and reflect, to savor in an almost philosophical way, like an incursion into the depths of human emotions. Returning to silence, but this time guided by the hand of Sigismondo d'India, is almost a path of purification in the deepest sense of the term. A great gift after this silent world that 2020 imposed on us." Leonardo García-Alarcón
