"Time & the Tiger" is the most significant exhibition dedicated to the work of Ho Tzu Nyen (1976, Singapore) in Europe to date. For over two decades, the artist has been creating films, installations, and virtual reality works that constantly push the boundaries of moving images. At the heart of his artistic practice is a reflection on history: how it is written and transmitted, as well as the role narratives, myths, and fiction play in it. These questions are embodied in works that often start with the context of Southeast Asia – a region whose unity seems to be found primarily in plurality and transformation. The exhibition brings together several major installations by Ho Tzu Nyen, including a significant new production titled "T for Time" (2023 – ongoing). In this double projection, programmed randomly using an algorithm, a multitude of references and anecdotes drawn from various cultural contexts between Asia and Europe collide, offering a profound meditation on the concept of time.
