Inspired by major figures like Joe Zawinul and Scott Kinsey, these sound explorers create live musical landscapes that defy expectations.
Turpin Yoann on keyboards weaves harmonic structures and captivating grooves while brilliantly taking on the role of bassist. His mastery gives the impression he has more than two hands. Engel Niels, on drums, sculpts precise and bold rhythms, the quartet's driving force. Goldschmidt Jérôme on percussion brings an organic and vibrant energy. Cocq-Amann Pierre, a multi-instrumentalist, juggles with virtuosity between saxophones and flutes of all sizes, xaphoon and percussion, bringing a unique melodic richness.
Each Ethnic Quartet concert is a fully improvised musical adventure, an enchanting trance that transcends genres and reinvents the present moment. You will find it hard to believe they are only four on stage as their chemistry and energy defy imagination.
