In this intimate and reparative creation, Jasmina Douieb weaves a thousand and one stories of resilience to find the path to her own mourning and learn to live with the loss of others. Deprived by the death of her mother, who was taken by cancer, Jasmina Douieb sought out strangers who, each in their own way, have managed to create unique ways, intimate maneuvers, sometimes secret and obscure, to stay connected with their deceased.
Drawing on the interviews she collected, she reinterprets these words gleaned during her investigation or, sometimes, simply presents them in their original truth. Transcending the boundaries of documentary theater, Post Mortem gradually weaves a sensitive web where fiction surfaces, releasing a multitude of stories that intersect, clash, and ultimately touch us at our core. The deceased reunite with the living, to resume where their interrupted conversation left off...
