Human Rights: "Are Human Rights Still Relevant?"
This year, your monthly meeting is part of a cycle of reflection on human rights. Unfortunately, these universal rights are violated worldwide and increasingly challenged by some major powers. After an introductory evening in January, we invite you to continue this cycle by focusing on homosexuality, using Aurélia Perreau's film "Gay Rights in Question".
Ten years after the marriage for all vote, is it easier to be homosexual in France? Homosexuals are more present in the media field, but homophobic acts continue to increase. Political or cultural personalities come out, but insults, physical violence, and cyberbullying create more and more victims. While society is increasingly accepting homosexuality, discovering, growing, and asserting oneself as homosexual remains a singular and solitary journey. Both anonymous and celebrities share insights and deconstruct the major stages of self-discovery, homosexual pride, and also the more or less conscious homophobia of popular culture.
After broadcasting this document, we will welcome Philippe Jungers, host and secretary of the League of Education within the Secular Action Center.
