After their chance meeting, Xia Yo, a businesswoman victim of an abusive husband, escapes with Xu Zitai, a man condemned by illness. Together, they embark on a journey of physical and emotional liberation, closely bound by desire and passion, navigating through an intense exploration of life and death. Adapted from the novel by Li Xiuwen (2003), Bound in Heaven follows a highly novelistic construction, infiltrating multiple times of the same relationship, shaken by the young man's illness, and fueled by the heroine’s passion. A unique love story that subtly narrates the significant socio-economic movements of contemporary China.
