Cinder Well is the musical project of Californian multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer Amelia Baker. Characterized by her unique voice, Baker's compositions chart a sonic journey through cinematic soundscapes, weaving surrealist lyricism with stylistic elements inspired by traditional music, ballads, and doom metal. There is weight and resonance in this music, in a way that does not rely on distortion but on the depth of lyricism and the straightforwardness of arrangements. Cinder Well's latest album, Cadence, was released in 2023. Cinder Well has participated in an NPR Tiny Desk concert and shared the stage with a wide variety of artists, including Kristin Michael Hayter, Lankum, and performed at festivals such as Other Voices, End of the Road, Prepare the Ground, and Amplifest.
