Together with his best friend Miyata, Sanu returns to Izu, a Japanese seaside resort where he met Nagi, now his wife, five years earlier. Overwhelmed by grief and nostalgia, Sano begins to search for a red cap that Nagi once lost. Meanwhile, Miyata becomes interested in a personal development course called "Super Happy Forever". Permeated by a ghostly atmosphere, with its melancholic seaside landscapes, Super Happy Forever stands out for its delightful sense of irony and offbeat humor, while portraying rarely seen masculinities in cinema, as well as a deconstructed friendship.
