Holy Electricity (LuxFilmFest)
After his father's death, Gonga, a reticent teenager, starts hanging out with his cousin Bart, a few decades older, in a scrapyard in the outskirts of Tbilisi, the Georgian capital. There, they find a suitcase full of rusty crosses and Bart decides to make luminous crucifixes to sell door-to-door. The two companions wander through the city and meet a variety of colorful characters. The film begins in a dump, a metaphor for the uncertain state of the two main characters, and leads them through the Georgian capital in search of redemption. Their journey, marked by their attempts to sell useless luminous crosses to people already overwhelmed with objects, allows for a slow and sensitive mourning, portraying two rare masculinities.
