Hailing from South London, Honeyglaze's music resembles a spring afternoon punctuated by light showers that wet the tip of your nose. Anouska Sokolow (guitar and vocals) alone takes care of the entire melodic aspect, which alternates between dissonant post-punk, even post-rock rides, and the melancholic intimacy of 90s indie, recalling the songwriting of contemporary artists like Adrienne Lenker and Angel Olsen. The inventive rhythm, provided by her two sidekicks Tim Curtis (bass) and Yuri Shibuichi (drums) admirably serves Sokolow's expressive voice, a real diamond in the rough that seduced producer Dan Carey (Fontaines DC, Kae Tempest, Squid, etc.) to the point of producing the trio's very first album in 2022.
