Jeffrey Lewis & The Voltage - Les Aralunaires 2025

Jeffrey Lewis' discography began in 2001 with the legendary anti-folk album “The Last Time I Did Acid I Went Insane” and continued until his latest EP urging people to vote for Kamala Harris in the last American elections. Two albums at the extremes of a body of work that, throughout, seems to be imbued with the same attraction to magnificent failure: the failure of not having had a good trip, the failure of supporting the losing candidate, the failure of being a freak in the middle of a society increasingly screaming reactionary conformism. All this is in Jeffrey Lewis' lo-fi garage and anti-folk, this form of fiercely independent music that does not care about charming the ears, or finding the most poetic lyrics (so punk but in folk), but about telling the daily experience, often eccentric and very personal, of this musician and comic book artist that Rolling Stone described as “very weird but also very inspiring”.
