Take grunge full of choruses, a voice that is both ethereal and scathing, add a mid-tempo rhythm leaning towards shoegaze, or even 80s psychedelia, remove the omnipresent English in rock, type in a disillusioned Spanish instead, stir well: and presto, beautiful “rotten daisies”, straight from Mexico! Feminists and imbued with DIY philosophy, responsible for two albums with a finely chiseled identity, the Margaritas are here to give hives to all forms of domination, by playing the card of self-affirmation through the very holy Six-Strings.
