An American filmmaker couple, Chris and Tony, take refuge on the mythical island of Fårö for the summer. In this breathtaking wilderness where Bergman lived and filmed his most important works, the duo hopes to find inspiration for their next films. The more time they spend apart, the more the line between reality and fiction begins to blur. Eventually, the couple's relationship begins to be challenged.
