In an overpopulated and polluted future, Earth suffers from a severe food shortage. The inhabitants rely on "Soylent Green", a mysterious food distributed by the government. A detective, Frank Thorn, investigates the murder of a corporate executive and discovers that Soylent Green is made from human corpses, thus revealing a dark truth about society.
