The Big Band of the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional Gabriel Pierné is directed by Damien Prud'homme, saxophonist and composer, active on the European jazz scene. This large jazz ensemble, composed of 5 trumpets, 4 trombones, 5 saxophones, and a rhythm section (piano, guitar, double bass, drums), brings together 20 students in the jazz curriculum. They have explored the repertoires of Miles Davis, Count Basie, Charles Mingus, and many others. This year's theme will be the music of Pat Metheny, a program that will appeal to all audiences. This large ensemble aims to share the passion for big band and the joy of improvisation.
