Company 111 – Aurélien Bory - Theater
Aurélien Bory, a prolific director whose staging of the opera Orphée et Eurydice (23·24) amazed audiences at the Théâtres de la Ville, returns to Luxembourg with his play invisibili, which brings together theatre, dance and visual art in front of a 15th-century fresco. In the background, like a dizzying stage score, is the oversized mural Le Triomphe de la mort, which Aurélien Bory discovered in Palermo, at the Palais Abatellis gallery. Set in the current context, it evokes the scourges of today. On stage, five performers and a musician establish a dialogue across time and the arts with the thirty-four characters in the fresco. Between tableau vivant and danse macabre, invisibili is a show that speaks of the awareness of death to better celebrate the forces of life.
