  • Mmmhhh tu sembles intéressé par "comedy". Clique sur les mots clefs qui te plaisent... et hop ne rate plus rien les concernant. A toi de jouer !

Crowd work is not just a great excuse for social media clips, but a fool-proof way to win over an audience and showcase your wit in a fast-paced comedy environment.

That's exactly what this 3-hour workshop will help you develop.

In this workshop you will:

learn ways to read the room and connect with your audience.
develop skills for finding humour in spontaneous interactions.
practice how to think on your feet.
discover ways to deal with both positive and negative hecklers.
collaborate and share experiences in a supportive environment.
get a chance to participate in an open mic and perform real-time crowd work.
About the instructors
This workshop is led by international comedians and Festrogen co-founders Mari Volar and Anshita Koul

A powerhouse on the European comedy circuit, Mari Volar (she/her) is an Estonian comedian, MC, and event producer with a knack for blending feminism with comedy —and delivering both with dramatic flair. Whether performing solo or hosting, she commands the stage with ease, as noted by Theater Scotland : "Volar has a great stage presence and easily captivates an audience."

Anshita Koul (she/they) is a Berlin-based, internationally touring and independent polyglot comedian from India. Anshita’s debut comedy solo in English – Little Too Much received great Audience Reviews internationally. When not touring, Anshita is the host and producer of multiple comedy shows and also is the creator of Berlin’s only QTIBIPOC comedy night. They have created a name for themselves in the English comedy scene in Europe with their political satires, funny punch up routines and an unfunny itch to decolonise standup comedy.

Anshita started her standup career on Indian reality TV show TLC presents Queens of Comedy 2017 and was most recently seen opening for Emmy Award winner comedian Vir Das on his European comedy tour Mindfool in October 2024.

Try out your new skills at our open mic
The workshop is followed by an open mic at Bora's Café, at 17:00 on Saturday 26 April to put your new skills to the test.
Participating in the open mic is strictly voluntary, albeit strongly recommended.

This event is organised in collaboration with Festrogen Festival, a platform that aims to inspire and support women in comedy while levelling the playing field for performers from under-represented groups.

The festival is organised with the support of the Luxembourg Culture Ministry.

Scholarship places
We offer a small number of free places on our workshops for people on low incomes. If you are interested in applying for a scholarship place, please send an email to [email protected] outlining how a scholarship would help you.
