The work of Jean-Pierre Beckius, particularly appreciated for his paintings of the Moselle region, is actually distinguished by a great diversity of motifs and artistic expertise that goes far beyond Impressionist influences. To mark his 125th anniversary, an exhibition of 90 paintings and studies presents the various characteristic periods of the painter's work.
The exhibition focuses on little-known or unknown works by the artist, drawn from his vast family inheritance or other private collections. The selection is complemented by works from the Villa Vauban collections. These include primarily works produced abroad, in France, Italy, and the Netherlands, but also family portraits.
