Jazzghosts is a jazz trio founded in Luxembourg / Saarland in 2024. Comprising a trombone, guitar, and drums, Jazzghosts celebrates a music without borders: wild, intense, humorous, and deeply existentialist. The three musicians explore a musical universe between jazz/rock and free expression: Michel Meis's explosive and unique drumming, the highly dynamic improvisations of Christof Thewes and Johannes Schmitz. Thewes's free-spirited compositions provide an ideal foundation for the individual expressions of the musicians, stemming from years of collaboration through diverse musical projects (swing Big Bands, hardcore metal groups, free jazz projects). This stylistic richness forms the core of Jazzghosts's identity.
