The new collaboration between pianist Michel Reis and saxophonist Matthieu Bordenave is a special musical encounter where two musicians share and explore their common takes on music as well as their own experiences to create a personal and fresh sound. Communication is of utmost importance in this intimate duo setting. Listening closely to each other and playing with space is key to bringing the personal compositions of the two musicians to life. Some pieces have been written especially for this, while at the same time, the two musicians like to delve into some of each other’s compositions from the past to find new ways to perform them. The music by Mathieu Bordenave and Michel Reis is sensitive, open, intimate, and, above all, seeks to tell a story and convey a warm feeling of optimism.
