Making the stones speak: new interpretations of the La Cour d'Or thermal baths in Metz. The La Cour d'Or thermal baths are part of the great Roman architecture. Yet, they do not enjoy the renown they deserve, like other equally well-preserved buildings such as the Cluny thermal baths in Paris. A new study paints a renewed picture of this emblematic monument of Metz's heritage. Conference led by Alain BOUET, Professor of Roman History and Archaeology at the University of Bordeaux-Montaigne, Co-director of the book The Ancient Thermal Baths of Metz. Evolution of an Urban Block from Protohistory to the Contemporary Era. Organized by the La Cour d'Or Museum-Eurometropolis of Metz. Meet at the Grenier de Chèvremont.
