The Arming of the Federal Contingent
Once delivered, artillery and cavalry weapons were resold during the reorganization of the contingent in 1847/48, including to Denmark, against which the German Confederation was at war. Technical progress also affected the rifles of the hunter battalions: they were converted to the Minié system, later sold, and replaced with needle rifles. From 1872, the corps introduced the "Luxembourg Hunter Rifle System Remington". In German, free of charge.
