We are all, more or less, upset by Xavier Bettel's speech, that's it... the long-awaited final countdown is launched! ⏰ We finallyyyy have a deadline to find out what conditions were going to be dealt.
But in the meantime, we wanted to bring a glimmer of hope and tell you what's going to happen on the local scene and also a piece of rather-intriguing news launched by Ticketmaster. 💉
It is not a surprise, but the event sector is severely impacted by the health crisis, there are two major problems: the cancellation of tours of international artists (which will not be postponed until 2022, and still, it's not 100% sure!) and the reduction of tickets.
Here we are still facing the same dilemma: more security, less space, which means less money for the event industry. Just one example: this year the Rockhal had '32 concerts and 50,000 spectators' on its program, and if you do a quick math calculation, it looks like an average of 1,560 people per concert. 🥺And, their largest concert hall can accommodate an audience of 6500 people... it hurts. We checked the Supermiro archives, and we saw that, in 2019, the Rockhal had more than a hundred active events.
But, but, buuuuuut we don't want to be alarmist, we always look at the bright side at Supermiro! Indeed, the covid has showcased local talents! Why? The Rockhal has planned a series of mini-concerts by local artists, limited to 90 people, (C'est Karma, Cleveland, Claire Parsons & Jérôme Klein and many more) for December 🎸(we're just excited about it!).
And! For home sessions there will be the unusual "Rocklab Pop-Up Sessions", here's the teaser ⬇️

And we wanted to share with you a rather disturbing news discovered in 'L'essentiel', indeed to be able to attend a concert, Ticketmaster could impose a negative Covid test (3 days before the concert) or... check if the spectator is vaccinated.
The problem that arises again: data protection, because your data would be sent to the lab and then retrieved by an app that would send the info to Ticketmaster before validating your ticket. Hmmm we don't like that very much! We can't wait for the Rockhal's mini-concerts to come to life! We'll keep you informed of course!
As a reminder, after the first lockdown, our Super CEO helped us discover local talents by inviting us to their home for a brunch 🤩⬇
