Step back in time and explore the hidden secrets of Luxembourg with Luxembourg City Underground! The Bock and Pétrusse Casemates open their secret passages for a unique adventure beneath the city. And the cherry on top: they're open ALL year round (except December 25th and January 1st)! It's time to discover a fascinating underground network, rich in history, secrets, and unusual anecdotes.
The Casemates du Bock is your ticket to exploring miles of secret tunnels and galleries. Discover the dungeon of the former Luxembourg Palace, a 47-meter-deep well (Mélusine could be hiding down there, who knows?) and cross the magnificent arches of the Pont du Château to admire the incredible panorama of the lower town. A true immersion in military history and panoramas that will leave you speechless.
The Casemates de la Pétrusse: an incredible network of stone-carved galleries, designed at the time by Marshal Vauban. More modern and innovative, they also offer a fascinating immersion experience. Thanks to light installations and interactive displays, history comes to life before your eyes, making the visit even more engaging and fun.
Fun fact: Did you know that the city's fortifications have had many unusual uses? Starting with a mushroom growing area (yes, you read that right), a champagne cellar, a headquarters for a shooting society, a concert and theater venue (on the Pétrusse side)... and both even sheltered up to 35,000 people during the raids of the First World War!
An ideal outing for families or friends, sheltered from the elements!
