Alessandro CASSIGOLI, Casey KAUFFMAN, 80 min, 2024 - Italy
Jasmine, a Neapolitan hairdresser in her forties, seems to have everything: a devoted husband, three sons, and her own hair salon. However, after the death of her father, she is haunted by a recurring dream that sparks an intense desire in her to have a daughter.
This is the second fiction feature by the duo Alessandro Cassigoli and Casey Kauffman, an intimate epic made all the more disturbing as it portrays the real-life experience of a family... played by themselves. Filmed closely to the faces of the protagonists, in an almost documentary-like approach and assembled with urgency, Vittoria fully embraces the visceral desire of its heroine.
