Liberation Weekend - Cinema - Ghost Army
In the presence of American director Rick Beyer who spent eight years retracing the incredible story of the Ghost Army, deployed in Luxembourg during the winter of 1944 to deceive the German army. This phantom army was set up by the American government towards the end of World War II. It actually consisted of 1,100 artists and sound engineers recruited in New York and Philadelphia to stage fake attacks using sounds of explosions broadcast by loudspeaker and inflatable tanks, thus making Hitler's troops believe that the American forces were much larger than they actually were.
