Founded in 1998, regularly invited to major festivals (Présences, ManiFeste, Royaumont Abbey...), the Cairn Ensemble tackles varied repertoires: the concerts are designed as sound journeys where the listener reinvents his sensitive relationship to music. An important figure in musical creation, Japanese composer Noriko Baba has been awarded prestigious prizes (Second Prize of the NHK-Maïnichi Composition Competition, Grand Prize for Composition at the Takefu Festival): she develops an expressive style Based on economics of means, extending in its own way the elegance and refinement of Ravel and Debussy.
